By now, everyone has probably come across this term – biohacking.
But what exactly is it, and can it really make you live to be 180 years old?
In short, biohacking is a form of "do-it-yourself biology." It combines biology with cutting-edge technology to optimize the human body.
The human body system is "hacked" with various tricks and tools, similar to a computer, leading to increased performance and well-being.
Biohacking therefore pursues the goal of being able to function at the best possible level on a physical, mental, and spiritual level and thus lead an overall healthier life. The greatest challenge is probably to permanently take responsibility for one's own life.
But what exactly do I have to do to be a “biohacker”?
The first step is to engage a little more with yourself and your body. Acquiring knowledge about your own body and using this knowledge to your advantage. What does my body and mind need to feel good and stay healthy? And what can I do to maintain this state for as long as possible?
Whether it's nutrition, exercise and movement, sleep, red light therapy, cold baths, oxygen chambers, or even neurofeedback , the possibilities for getting closer to the best version of yourself, in small or large steps, seem to grow day by day.
But here, too, the rule applies: you don't have to jump on every trend, and it's all about quantity! Who knows if Dave Asprey, the founder of the biohacking trend, will really live to be 180, and whether it will help him lead a fulfilling life.
